• Cotton Wartchow, long-time rancher and cattledog man, Roff, Oklahoma, passed away May 11, 2009.  Folks, Cotton (75) was active in both the Red River Cattle Dog Association and the Sundowner Stockdog Association.  A guestbook for the family can be found at www.phillipsfuneralservice.com 

• CDC Breeders, Laura Stimatze and Kenneth Beasley competed at the Top Hand Cattle Dog Open Field Trial, May 1 - 3, 2009 at Lexington, Oklahoma. Congratulations to Darrell Cook of Wapnuka, OK who won.

• Remembering John Hearnsberger, Louisiana, May 1, 2009.

  John was my good friend.  He was enthusiastic about everything he was involved in, whether it was work,cutting horses, or cowdogs.  He spoke his mind, was straightforward and honest.  What a memory to leave behind !  John was strong in life and strong in death.  He called two months before his death and I quote.  "My doctor has estimated that I will live two to three more
  months, so while I am able, I want to say good-bye to you and Kaye, and thank you for being my good friends".  We will always miss him.  God Bless John Hearnsberger.  Len Dalton  Thanks to Len for sending this.

September 1945 - September 25, 2008. Son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. CDC Breeders

CDC Breeders are using and raising purebred Border Collies, Kelpies and some cross-bred dogs in cattle operations across the United States.  If they, themselves, are not running cattle, they use their dogs on a regular basis for the industry.

Trainers and Training Aids

These people are long-standing members of the working ranch dog community.  Some have training videos and/or books for sale.

The Associations listed here are devoted to the development and presentation of working cattle dogs.  Their trials consist only of cattle work.  These trials score on point and time only and are not affiliated with any professional handler or breed organizations.

STOCKDOGS MAGAZINE - SUBSCRIBE TODAY
